Chicklets And Rum For The Holidays Poem by Ted Sheridan

Chicklets And Rum For The Holidays

Rating: 5.0

Just a week before Christmas and here I go again…
I fell back and hit my head on the hard concrete floor
And when I did two of my upper front teeth took flight
One was last seen traveling in route to sunny Florida
I guess it made the move in hope of staying warm
The other landed on the ground and begged to be reinstated soon
As for me I have found it is hard to curse when your mouth is full of holes
I called the dentist but he is gone for the holidays
So I seem to be out of luck
Looks like I will be eating soup instead of jams and ham
And drinking plenty of rum….
Note: Fruitcakes in my house are Weapons of Mass Destruction
so I take my rum without cake…please
