Childhood - No Computers Or Cgi Poem by Paul Warren

Childhood - No Computers Or Cgi

On the side of the Red Hill Bridge at Alberton
Seated on the piece of tin at the top waiting to slide on
No computers or CGI here just plain good fun
As I waited for the push and the slide begun

Playing back yard cricket 'til the sun went down
As we batted and bowled as our turn came around
Playing football on the oval kicking end to end
With everyone having a turn as equals and friends

I sometimes sit back and wonder if it was a dream
Thinking of my childhood of how wonderful it all seemed
Yoau know that in this world there could be no better place
And all I have in my memories that will not be displaced.

I too look back on childhood as an idyllic period.
