Choosing Wrong Done To Do Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Choosing Wrong Done To Do

A child may not know,
What they do done to someone else.
With a doing intentionally a wrong to do.
Has a way to return to the doer.
That's when an adult should step in.
To explain what a payback means.

However...
An adult choosing a wrong done to do.
Intentionally.
To expect a forgiveness given.
Should not so quickly expect this,
From someone victimized by the intent.
To overnight sprouts wings,
Forgiving to forget.
After healing from a wound inflicted.
As if their mind has been erased,
From an event that took place.

A child may not know,
What they do done to someone else.
With a doing intentionally a wrong to do.
Has a way to return to the doer.
That's when an adult should step in.
To explain what a payback means.

However...
Some adults have no clue,
What it is they do to others...
Even with scriptures learned to quote.
Churches to attend and heads bowed to pray.
To leave their churches on the same day,
Looking for some devilment to get into.
Yet will claim they've been saved!
But from what?
Lessons to learn from a sermon preached?
Or a teacher to ignore?
To then seek answers from their questions asked,
"God?
What have I done to deserve what has come,
Repeatedly into my life.
Have I not done all I could to avoid trouble? "

Why do those who say,
They avoid trouble.
Are the ones who leave it for others.
Incapable to avoid what to them has been done!
