Christmas Cracker Poem by Ima Ryma

Christmas Cracker

I'm called a Christmas cracker cuz
When pulled apart I send a crack.
Then the pulling me apart does
Present my gifts that I give back,
Colorful crowned shaped hat and joke,
The winning puller gets to keep.
I'm quite a hit with younger folk
For Christmas fun that I do heap.
My kind have been around a while.
A couple hundred years we've brought
A Christmas chuckle and a smile
As sounds of crack are heard a lot.

Once, Norman Rockwell painted me
Being pulled by young he and she.
