Cigarette Poem by Dorsey Baker

Cigarette

She finishes
washing her hair
her nakedness she covers
by slipping
into a soft body massaging
robe
falls down upon the sofa
to continue reading
the paperback
a romance novel
she hears the dirty water
running down the drain
but the romance novel
is the main focus
of her attention
she pulls out a cigarette
grabs an ashtray
from the table
finds a match
lights the cigarette
and starts to smoke
its her last one
but she'll buy another pack
she'll stop by the gas station
on the way to work!
