Circus Poem by Dorsey Baker

Circus

Rating: 5.0

The circus
its in your blood
you have become
the clown
you wear its face
you wear its clothes
you spin
your words
like the fast Ferris wheel
you have learned
to obey!
the whip
like the lions and
the tigers
that jump! through
the hoop
and face the fire
just like the big elephants
in formation
they parade around
you have learned
to adjust to
captivity!
