The history of medicine
Started out with eating a root.
Then that was condemned as heathen.
Prayer was deemed the healthy pursuit,
Until branded superstition
By sellers of magic potion,
Which had a popular long run,
Until pills became the notion;
Followed by antibiotics,
Which were all the rage for a while.
Return to nature said critics.
Eating a root is back in style.
As takers of medicine found,
What goes around then comes around.
