Civilized Chaos Crisis Souls Sinking Poem by Terence George Craddock

Civilized Chaos Crisis Souls Sinking

senses, reason, intellect...

if God bestowed
such gifts abilities
upon humanity...

then why do vast
numbers of individuals
multiple societies throughout

contemporary past civilizations
fail to apply senses, reason, intellect
to their chaos crisis problems...

why be lambs to the slaughter
why continue herd habit mentalities
why let greed intolerance injustice

impose hardships cruelties wars
upon invaded people afflicted
great hardship suffers unwashed...

suffering people may perceive
beauty kindness in suffering
give aid alms to others in need...

while an insulated minority
wallowing in excessive wealth
have sacrificed empathy pity

enlightenment

for countless consumed luxuries
which will not sooth bloated souls
sinking into a mire of depression...
