Clandestine Criminals Poem by Francis Duggan

Clandestine Criminals

Life can be unfair for how can one explain
That somebody's loss can be someone else's gain
That some people do prosper from some else's financial pain
Has often happened before and will happen again
From the misfortune of others some known to succeed
Some say that's good business though it does seem more like greed
Clandestine criminals do live in every city and village and town
The type who seek advantage in keeping others down
Some people can be unfair does that seem fair to say
And more latent rogues live in the World of today
Than at anytime in the history of Humankind
For a successful crook you need not search to find
If life can be unfair people for that mostly to blame
In ripping off of others some do not feel any shame.
