Cloaked Venom Poem by GHOST WRITER

Cloaked Venom

Rating: 4.8

Your eyes hypnotise me,
Your presence takes my breath away,
Then you smile
And I’ll do anything to make you stay.

Your kiss is deadly,
Your touch sends me in a trance.
Suddenly you hold me close
And I don’t stand a chance.

You’re like venom that runs through my veins;
Taking over my mind, my body, my heart!
I suffer each day wanting more from you,
Knowing ultimately it would be better if we were apart.

Then you leave...
Is this my cure?
Yet memories invade my thoughts
& the infection returns for me to endure.

I refuse to write or call.
I test my willpower to stay away;
But the more I try purge you from my system
The more you invade to haunt me for yet another day.

I would pay in blood for an antidote
To rid me of you for good!
But nothing on sale seems to work;
If only I could I would.

So I continue along my path in life
Hoping another cure will find me soon.
Weighed down by memories of you
As once again there is another full moon.

I love this poem, it's got fantastic rythym and it's got a clear and concise message. Sometimes it does feel like an addiction and you calling it poison is as close to that kind of addiction I could imagine. The metaphor works well. Love the close-out too, I love full moons..... it was a Lunar Eclipse this time too, so perhaps the ache in your heart was somewhat heavier. It resonates deeply. Great poem. HG: -) xx
