on the first day of school
parent blockhead puppet
takes child young branch
to school pushes young branch
through classroom door
symbolic educational door
just opened for young branch
still sporting fresh brown bark

a few imagination leaves still sprouting
inside axe head teacher
is standing at the black board
pointer in hand teaching
2x2=4 teaching conformity
conformity unified thought
standardized thought killing
originality inspiration spontaneity

at classroom desks silent sad sit
all clone little student puppets
all sitting all exactly the same looking
what is the educational meaning...
what is the educational impact...
not cut from the same clothe
nor cut from the same branches
but all branches cut the same
