Cloud Atlas Poem by Nate Tulay

Cloud Atlas

"This too shall pass,
this too shall pass
like a shooting star
running across
the night sky, "
she said.
This too shall pass
I repeated to myself,
as if her words were
meant for me.
As if my love
for living art
can be controlled.

Darling,
the old Persian
adage is true.
I, too, shall pass
once again,
along with all of
my friends, ex-lovers,
and loved ones,
but what I feel now,
I have felt before
in each of my
endless cycles of life,
and it all started when
I laid eyes on you
100,000 years ago.
