Don't ever mistake
me for a poet.
At heart,
I am a revolution,
but I was once again born
within the wrong age
and have not found
a cause worth dying for,
plus the people
in my homeland
are tired of fighting
after a fruitless coup,
and a senseless civil war,
and so they willingly
turn a blind eye
to all of their problems
and live 'happily'
with corruption
and poverty.
But one day
my people will
wake up
and realize
that capitalism
and democracy
have failed them,
and that the God
of their beloved bible
is indeed a humanist,
and will once again
call for a revolution,
but I will have already
been murdered and dead
for more than a thousand years.
Firstly, Congrats, Nate on POD. Very well deserved! And secondly, the revolution is in the hands of all artists. That's why tyrants fear us so much.
Thanks Richard, it means a lot and I really appreciate and value it... and yes, I like to think of artists as the voice of the people and the last line of defense within every society and civilization.
Most enchanting poem. A revolution, of course. Loved reading.
Thanks buddy, the revolution is still young, but I am starting to become a believer in its possibilities too.
Congrats Nate! ! It feels good when your words are given poem of the day?
Thanks Buddy, I really appreciate and value it. And it feels amazing, kind of like meeting an open minded individual who is also wise and down to Earth too. lol... and thanks once again buddy.
That is starting to feel true. Thanks for the comment, I really appreciate and value it.

You know how to cure corruption and one day we do find a better leader who do lead well.
