Coffee Sshop Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Coffee Sshop

Coffee Shop

Went to pay my lunch debt
Friend paid ten dollars.

On the way stopped by
The "Judy's Coffee Shop."

She knows that her name is
My mirrored memories.

We chatted for a while
Then, other things arrived.

She told me story
Of money, humanity.

"Though money has no tongue
It leads our daily life."

She said and changed gear
Sped fast, diverted.

Told me of a man who
Had textile factory:
"Well-known, is respected."

Comes to him a young man
"Want to work with you and
Triple the income…"

Greed and ambition: "Accepted! "

Came police after time:
"Laundering, heroin,
Smuggle, misconduct! "

Factory was closed
And he ended in court.

In meantime, old man saw
A woman, out of mind;
With a belt in her hand…

Back and forth, woman walked
Said nothing, looked around.

Old man watched, verified
Finally, went forward:
"Can I help? Something wrong? "

"Of my purse, this is left…"

The robber with sharp knife
Grabbed bag and then cut
The handle which she had
And jumped on motorbike.

"My passport, telephone,
Air ticket, all are gone…"

He lent her some money:
"This is all I can do…"

Court cases, normally
Are slow, time taking
Turtle like and lazy…

His time came, finally.

He rejects to appeal:
"Am guilty, forgive me, "
Instead finds lawyer:
"Defend my innocence."

In the court he insists:
"Your highness
I am the guilty…"

Two judges reject him
The third, though
Trusts him…

"I have seen this man and..."

She is one who lost bag…

Clever pictorial of a gritty urban modern tale of harsh and criminal survivalism!
