Cold Winter, Warm Heart Poem by Kwai Chee Low

Cold Winter, Warm Heart

Rating: 5.0

The north wind blows cold and dreary,
shrouding trees like snow white bridal gowns.
Streams once happily murmuring and gurgling,
now mute in ice till spring's meltdown.

Distant stars shimmer at nightfall,
below an owl stares wide-eyed and bleary.
An eerie silence of cicadas love calls.
Still the wind blows cold and dreary.

I wait beneath the old elm tree,
my boots and hat heavy with snow.
Again I looked at the bleak desolate road.
Yearning for her, my heart's aglow.

Still the wind blows dreary and cold.

Although the wind blows dreary and cold, a heart of longing is still aglow. A beautiful love poem.
