Come Upon My Night Poem by Dr Igbinedion Obaretin

Come Upon My Night

Rating: 5.0

Water against water, splashing
Redirecting the troubled ship
Ever sailing in polluted waters.

Wet eyes, telescoping
Her shadows cast everywhere;
The shore in unsure direction.

Beneath the sea, the drum
Spoke in sinister tones
To a congregation of beings, dancing

With steps of agonizing mastery
And spider-like finger tips, calling
On souls in the darkness of passion.

Her long hairs, ensnaring
Hearts eagerly bleeding, desiring
Two arrogant apples on her chest, inviting

Motionless lips, red and wet
Like the open wound, housed
Between the celebrity's parted legs, sending

More violent waves across the sea,
This night, comfort of agony;
Heart, ensnared in the web of torture.

Her shadows cast again and again,
Now too close for comfort;
Light come upon my night!

From the east, send your rays
To this menacing sea of lust;
Redirect my path to your benevolent Being.
