as long as she doesn't think about it
it never happened
and if it did
it never mattered....
her garden is dead
frost took the last red tomato
in the same way the heat
had taken the last of the collard greens
she will replant in the spring
when she and the weather are tolerant
and more suitable for cultivation
but for the time being she will talk to her bird
and let the dog out for a leak
in between reading her gossip magazines
and doing a load of colors
her life is safe
as long as she doesn't think about it
it never happened
and if it did
it never mattered
not to her or anyone else........
I was just talking to my Grandmother, lives by the seashore, who is such an avid gardener. She loves roses. in the gardener club, if you will. I love lilies. but we got an unexpected snowfall - like tonite, i was coming back from the bar and got whip-lashed by a snowflake. Still, i hope my flowers bloom beautifully, .... take care, sjg
