coming back to the hedges in bloom,
when you unlatch the gate,
will you see this as before?
home. after long wars.
and the fractured time awash
in lilies now; the afternoon sun,
the myriad rainbows
focused into one,
over the front porch;
the holly bushes
in the side yard;
the breeze in the alley way,
the quiet in the heart.
