Rating: 5.0

efficace, incroyablement
laids chacun d'eux.

En sous-effectif? ayant besoin peut-etre
de plus d'espace de bureau? Je suggere
un fauteuil pour le jour de pension.

Mon compte rendu continue, chaque

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
He is doing a report on a post office and its workers. There is dislike between him and them. The postmaster prides himself on having a team of workers. The report writer meets meets them all at morning tea-break, judging them to be efficient but incredibly ugly, all of them. He finishes his report by noon, but they do not ask him to stay the rest of the day. He refuses to leave. He is waiting for 'the one/ human error these P.O. / workers never counted on'. Thus he will be able to say that the postmaster was wrong.
I read 'Post Office report' at a poetry club in Auckland some years ago. It was well received, in particular, 'ugly every one of them', while the last three lines intrigued the audience. I think that I chose well for my first poetry reading.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

The head of the post office says there is no place for human error. Everything should be done rightly. At the break for morning tea meeting a team is nice. This poem is beautifully penned.10

This is one of Sam Hunt's best poems I think. It has humour and shows the difference in temperament between him and the postmaster. The 'I' in the poem would not be Hunt himself but a character whom he has imagined, to speak as if he were the poet. Very skilful writing in every way.

The report made on post office and its workers are definitely interestingly prepared. This translation poem is interestingly penned. He refuses to leave. He is waiting for 'the one. Je ne vais pas. J'attends la seule. This poem is very brilliant and excellent one.
