Confessions Of A Mosquito Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Confessions Of A Mosquito

Never I shall quit human dwellings
I enjoy the feast of sucking the blood
many a kinds of blood I relish
my food and succour rest with humans
Oh! Man! just like you I am part of creation
God has shown me you for my survival
just as you feast on animals of your choice
I too have a choice of sucking your blood
unable to face me you indulge in accusations
holding me the cause for spreading the disease
keeping your surroundings unclean and hazardous
audacity you have in holding me responsible
vulnerable you are with dirt and infections
unperturbed you are in accumulating garbage
infested you are already with bad immune
hold me not the cause for faults of your own
sick blood you have for me to suck and survive
just you relish food from different eateries
I hop from person to person for variety of my food
clean if you remain your blood will be clean
my bites alone is never the cause of your infections

Beautiful observations through the eyes of a mosquito. Nicely delivered.
