Confusion Poem by Little Cat

Confusion

A couple words,
a couple admissions
and the meaning and cue of this song
are changed.

What an effective way
to rid me of my pain,
yet confusion lays in its wake.

These what ifs
warp through my mind,
which changes all the time,
leaving me to question
where we stand you and me.

For even with honesty,
comes deception
when your border lining the perceptions
of myself and me.

I’ve been forced to realize
that even if she says it,
it still means that I admit it—
yet all you do is agree,
about these what ifs that might never be.

Yet even if we both believe
that we’ll leave it to fate,
our easy acceptance
shows that it’s already in motion,
even if it does only lead
to a deeper understating between you and me.
