It's cold, uncommonly, in 2020
and even colder after the winter solstice
as though back to the Qin times (1)
The Yellow River is frozen during the day
so are the r. Wei and the moat of Chang'an city (2)
Sparrows rarely appear in the sky
turtle doves are nowhere to please the eye
and ducks walk on the ice
O look, egrets stand there elegantly —
Now and then, they take to the air
and slide on the ice when landing without care
For the cunning military strategists
it'd be the best time to lay a siege
Had Zhao-Wei-Han-Chu-Qi-Yan, all the six (1)
countries, if united to attack by force
they'd had conquered this metropolis
and caught the First Emperor when he had breath
