Consolation (Part 2) Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Consolation (Part 2)

A gem now lies
Still stretched and ignorant
Unfeeling to metabolism

Pains and agonies
spoke the faces of the concerned
Still with air

Do we then speak vanity
And ignore the joy of living?

The fruitful days of Solomon
Wrapped in wisdom
And
Uneventful days of Methuselah
Blessed in longevity
Are
Two sides of positive gift
The creator bestows
Whom He chooses

Whichever is your divide
Ungrudging accept
And give thanks
