The most conspicuous
characteristic
of human beings
is not the ability
to contemplate
the world rationally
and logically and
make perfectly
gauged choices
and calculations
about reality
but the ability to
become involved
in the world,
developing
the skills required
for acting effectively
in worldly situations.
