Contentment Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

Contentment

I would not wish
To exchange my state
With anyone on this earth.

For it is me
Who I am best acquainted with
For better or for worse.

It is not narcissism
Or senseless vanity
Or a cosy state of affair.

But it is an inner voice
That holds me back
To my very own lair.

So let me hold on
To my regular post
And not be transferred or retrenched.

Let the sky fall
Or the heavens beckon or call
But I still wish to remain to me entrenched!

Beautiful poem with Great message. Self contentment is very important to lead a beautiful and peaceful life. We should be happy with what ever we are. As you said let the sky fall or whatever happens, I still wish to remain to me entrenched! Loved reading it.

Being happy with one's own entity is perhaps the most contented state! Nothing is rich enough to be bartered with one's identity or individuality! Only one who is in love with oneslf will be able to love others.... Great message, confident assertion, brevity and lucidity of thought! Enjoyed! !
