Conversations With Dead People Poem by Rachel Brewer

Conversations With Dead People

Wouldn’t you love it,
For just one day,
To talk to someone departed,
And find out what they would say?

They could tell you of their time in the ground,
And if their grave is soft,
It could feel like a duvet cover,
Or maybe the padding inside the loft.

They could speak of the afterlife,
And what things the have seen,
Come on, tell me you want to know!
You must be pretty keen.

They could tell you about God and the angels,
Or the devil and his nasty work.
They could tell you all the things he does,
Tell you if he’s really a jerk!

Wouldn’t you love it,
For just a tick,
If you could see their face again?
Unless the thought made you sick!

So I will ask you now,
And you have to be true,
Would you like to speak to a dead person?
And see if they can help you.
