Conversion - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

I did not possess a grain of doubt
To swindle your naïve heart
To dress you with my body
And now I do not possess
Even one meager crystal of clarity
For my heart too was swindled that night
As we lay under a silver moon
Waiting for the sun to rise
When perfect strangers slipped through lip cracks
To find an unexpected sanctuary
Of an embryonic love
