Coronavirus Poem by Elena Plotkin

Coronavirus

Rating: 3.5

I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV,
I am simply a girl who occasionally drinks a Corona Beer.
Who was raised in the good ole USA,
'The home of the free and the brave, '
And from a very young and impressionable age,
I was taught to be savvy and sage,
I was taught that 'sticks and stones,
May break my bones,
But names will never hurt me'
And 'whatever will be, will be,
The future is not ours to see.'
And maybe I am at times a bit too careless,
And maybe I am at times stupid and reckless,
But I aint no dope,
I wash my hands with soap.
And if my death comes from taxes
Or some deadly virus.
Then it wasn't from the beer and my other vices.
