Coronavirus Will Not Define Us Poem by Allen Steble The Philosophical Poet

Coronavirus Will Not Define Us

Rating: 5.0

Many times have we been separatedby walls
Built by the iron fist of the callous dictator
But now we have a wall build by necessity
One to protect us from a vastly growing plague
Just as there is protection in fortitude
One can find strength in solitude
And one must learn to accept the self
The self that has its own surety
The self that it's own accountability
The self that sees beyond barriers
And finds the hope that only it need find
For the sake of finding its own strength and reason
And nothing else of vane appearance
There are many who will find pain
There are many who will find loneliness
There are many who will seek to self medicate
Yet there are some who find patience
Some who will find wisdom
Some who will find their long lost voice
Of the passions of their hearts calling
It is now we are challenged like never before
To make the most of less and become greatly more
And to this I say from my very core
Coronavirus will not define us
We will define ourselves
