Corruption Poem by Barry Middleton

Corruption

Rating: 5.0

corruption only serves the self
it disregards the needs of others

corrupt government is a great evil
it exploits those it should protect

corruption is betrayal and deceit
it is layered in lies and trickery

corruption is tyranny in disguise
thievery shielded in darkness

corruption putrefies the soul
it is forever an insatiable lust

to fight corruption be generous
focus on the needs of the many

corruption dims in truth's light
to save your soul rely on truth

truth is a beacon in the night
it is silent and gentle and pure

Well i love this poem because we in our country encounter a lot of corruption n malpractice at government and individual level. Thanks for raising voice against an evil. Kudos.

Plenty of corruption everywhere. Some countries hide it better.

I may be in the temptation to reshape and reline it, to feel it the way it impressed me by its metaphors.
