Cosita Poem by Juan Olivarez

Cosita

Cosita means 'little thing, '
In an affectionate way.
It's of my Cosita of which I sing,
Because he brightens up my day.

Nine months old, and he cries for me,
Whenever I pass by.
Cosita is my grandson as you see,
Which the lord sent from on high.

Mateo is Cosita's real name,
My little butterball.
I bless the day on which he came,
Hold on, I hear his call.
