Courage Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

Courage

Deep inside the human breast
Lies a hidden source of courage
That springs up like a geyser
When faced with tyranny

Putting up their puny strength
Against mighty tanks
A mighty marauding army
A terror state out to destroy them

Ah, such noble personal courage
Such pictures of sacrifice
Glory crowns their forehead
As they lie dead

Take my salutation men and women
You have not died in vain
Your indomitable spirit lives on
To inspire another generation
