Crash And Burn - Poem by Josh Burnett

Burned, crushed, I'm out of luck.
Terrified I may not have it another night.
Screaming in my face I hear it fight.
Tears are consumed by all the hating lies.
Swarming around the consuming flies.
The anger is born as the happy dies.
There is no more try between you and I.

It might as well let me go.
Because I know no matter what
I'm born to crash and burn,
And never will I learn.

Face down lying in the dirt.
My tongue begins to thirst,
But it only gets worse.
With each pain it stabs at the back.
Words echoing like a murderous attack.
Crying out for more there is no end.
I thought that it was my friend.

It might as well let me go.
Because I know no matter what
I'm born to crash and burn,
And never will I learn.
