Crushed Rose Poem by Paul Sebastian

Crushed Rose

A vacuum heart prevails
Left with love's departure
Heart stung by pain, rails
Screams for lover's capture

Reality has stung deep
Devastated by emptiness
Promises made were steep
Crushed into brokenness

Naked in my illusions
Feeling emotionally abused, cheated
Sidelined into being an option
Feel, taken for a ride, like an idiot

Streaming tears cannot be stopped
Heart wrenches in unbearable pain
Into darkness I crawl back again, lost
Wounded, soaked wet in the rain

How would I let it go?
How would I get up, regain?
Learn a lesson from the blow?
Wake up, to love again?
