I look through a fractured looking glass
At the broken world all around me.
At the wars, the famine war brings and
The despair of people fleeing their homes.
And I cry.
I look through a fractured looking glass
At a Polar bear dragging its hind legs behind
Him - starving to death as the Artic heats up
Licking an old piece of wood waiting to die.
And I cry.
I look through a fractured looking glass
At other sentient beings whose environments
Mankind has trashed in the name of progress
And also by our colossal carbon footprint.
And I cry.
I look through a fractured looking glass
And through the lenses of others, at my emaciated
Fellow man begging on cold damp streets
The hungry and the homeless, young and old.
And I cry.
I look through a fractured looking glass
At the premature deaths caused by climate change
By crop failures, and for future generations who
Will face a bleak future from deadly heat events.
And I cry.
I put this fractured looking glass down and contemplate
On the failures of my generation to make the changes
Or even be the change itself to make change happen,
And do what is right in the name of humanity.
And yes, I cry.
The world is full of greed, corruption and lies as the photos in the news display all the injustices, poverty and the climate change effecting animals habitats and yes I do cry too. For the powers of this world do turn away and walk away, but I do know there is a lot of good people trying to change the world for the better so hopefully maybe one day we will all smile again! Powerful and the truth so beautifully written!

I would like to translate this poem
A beautifully crafted write. The flow and symmetry are great. A great piece that captures the flaws in our society specially on the matter of climate change.
