Current Affair Poem by Ted Sheridan

Current Affair

Rating: 4.5

Forget about the phone,
and don't worry if the doorbell rings
whoever it is will be of no concern to me,

let them wait.
Take off your clothes,
strip any inhibitions from your mind,

reveal yourself
to my impatient and growing love.
I have fasted long enough,

and my hunger is such,
that I can taste you from here,
come nearer.

Hold me close to your breast,
feel my breath as it is heated,
by the quickened beating of your heart,

and my desire to enter you.
This is our moment in time,
the only one we may ever have

as lasting affairs are so inapplicable,
and trust is placed at a premium,
should you stray from his side.....

to mine.
