Current Event - June 2019

Rating: 5.0

The U.S. Military-Industrial Complex
Is excited.
A Drone was shot down by Iran.

The Drone, a RQ-4C Global Hawk,
Costing 220 million dollars
To manufacture and equip.

Will now need to be replaced,
Not one, but so many more.

All this,

While thousands of HOMELESS
U.S. Citizens sleep on the streets
And eat out of garbage cans.

Quite an event for an expensive Drone to be shot down. A more important one is homeless people sleeping on the streets. A poem of contrast and compassion.

Was the drone one of ours? I heard a report that said it was NOT in Iranian air space. Why did they shoot it down?

Kim, yes, it was one of ours, thank goodness that it was unmanned..
