Zany Bleu

Cuts - Poem by Zany Bleu

I want the pain
to feel the relief
I like the blood
that oozes out
Razor or knife
its all the same
the cuts don't bother me
but the scars do
I wear lots of bracelets
and a jacket all day
People wonder
why I even wear
one in gym.
I made the mistake
of pulling my sleeves up
Somebody saw
Now I am in trouble
I head to a place
that is supposed to help me
but it temps me
everyone stares
but I press it once more
Drifting away
I feel faint
The blood falling to the floor
coldness flows through me
everything is black
but then it is light
I can't hurt my arms anymore
Because they are aren't there
and neither am I

The first line says it all for me on this topic ZB.

What I think we really want
is the adrenalin rush to make us feel
    and also
kill what pain is unbearable to us humans.

I may be wrong, but perhaps the first road of healing these wounds
is finding our place in the world and getting us happy?

I say 'us' metaphorically, but there are many ways to skin a rabbit, as they say down my neck of the woods.

I know that cutting can be a very hard addiction to stop, but it is possible, I know that too from experience in my own personal life.

The reality that this great poem ends with, is terrifyingly stark and very true of the ending of lives of millions of souls the world through.

A sad read, but very necessary
for both the poet and the reader
to bleed the truth of the matter
of living in our society today.

    Smiling at you

    Tai, enjoying your work
