Dad Poem by JoAnn McGrath

Dad

Rating: 5.0

I may not have been the daughter
that everyone perceives
(the wearing of pink ribbons and bows)
But this I do believe...

If I had to pick a Dad
I'd pick no other than you
For you're the perfect Dad
to help me see it through

You taught me many things
along lifes winding road
I'll always have them with me
no matter where I go

No one can take them from me
The joys and all the pains
Even when your gone someday
The memories will still remain

very nice Joann, I like how you reflect your father's unfailing love for you. Did you ever show your dad this one?

This is the kind of poem I would like to be able to write. Perfect for Fathers' day cards around the world, having populist appeal... but straight from the heart nonetheless, and flowingly written. First class. t x
