Dads can fix things easily
When kids play with their things roughly
And they chase monsters feared with dread
When hiding at night from under your bed
They take you to the swing park
When your Mum need some time apart
And they have great skill in summertime
Cooking sausages and steak at barbie time
They are there standing proud when you graduate
With a tear in their eye as their fate
And when it's time to walk daughters down the aisle
They proudly strut arm in arm with a smile
And when the years go by and grey hair looms
They turn into grand-fathers so soon
To watch your grandchildren grow too
When spoiling them is their job to do
So they will be forever in your memory
Still showing the way a guiding light you'll see.
