The wind blows in reverse direction
That is reflected in our action
Parents find their home as refugee home
It is called “old age home”
Only few youngsters stick
And kick
Any temptation to remain separate
They share happily and relate
You will find daily struggle
In family, like we create in forest or jungle
One tries with supremacy
The house becomes ground for pity
Ultimately parents are pushed
And rushed
To old age homes
But at home not welcome
Parents too are to be blamed
The child’s thought is shared
He has been sent abroad
To share the family’s load
He has money but no time
Parents miss them sometimes
But there is no other go!
One has to shed tears or forgo
12 May 2015 TO: Mr. Ashutosh Dimri Because the natural mutual affection between parents and their children is on the wane, we have to simulate it by celebrating 'parents' day' etc. Hashmukh-ji rightly points out that the fault is not one-sided but that parents also are to blame as they send their children away from home for their better career and also be beneficiary to it. But, is there any way out in our world that has adopted 'cut throat competition' as our only means of 'progress'? Rajat Das Gupta Rajat Das Gupta, Kolkata May 12,2015
