Dark Clouds Gathering Above Europe Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Dark Clouds Gathering Above Europe

Dark clouds gather, pressing low,
stretching across a fractured sky.
Europe stands at the edge of silence,
its breath uneven, its hands unsteady.

Voices rise, then falter-
promises splinter in the wind.
Borders tense, alliances fray,
old ghosts whisper beneath the marble halls.

Protests churn in the streets,
fists clenched, banners torn.
Power shifts like restless tides,
while thunder waits to call its name.

The storm is not yet here,
but the air is thick with warning,
Will the dawn break through the black,
or will the clouds swallow the light?
