Dawn To Dusk Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Dawn To Dusk

Rating: 5.0

Everynight when we're on the battleground
Neither one of us cave or ever back down
is it my flame that keeps you drawn?
when we can assume the love is gone
what more is there to say
when things would go astray

I pull and you push
In this war i'm abushed
nobody comes out with a win
Awake to do this all again

is this love?
what we're feeling
provides no affection or healing
and that is true
We have a love we've both outgrew

I think the answer is in the last line, however painful it might be. Beginning to sound like a power struggle rather than love. It's a very good and thought provoking poem. Well done.
