Dawning Beauty Poem by Aaron Combs

Dawning Beauty

Rating: 5.0

Within body, spirit, and soul, have I just woken up, or is this sublime?
In the bright lit wondrous skies, how angels could not surmise,
Should I believe that this will end in time?

O, I implore this moment for the world to stand still,
For you make the rhythm of my heart thrill.
The sun frets the break of dawn, where we had met −
Sky’s complexion splashed purple and warm orange blemishes,
The great waters refracting the golden sun’s wishes,
Casting lavender and cobalt speckles where the sea swishes.

In taking this, beholds the most beautiful of all,
Where my heart truly falls,
Hair of heaven's waters flowing,
Eyes of gemstones glowing,
Lips and smile of the divine,
Bosoms, nooks, and bays,
Brings the consuming fire to shine.
Supremely your charm magnifies your true core,
Your beauty dwarfs the sunrise which reflects heaven’s doors.

You have an enviable way with rhyme and word choice. I like best the descriptive passages. I also like the analogy of referring to the colors of the sky as its complexion-also relating to the complexion of the loved one.

Very good, I enjoyed this cleverly written verse. These lines really caught my eye, Hair of heaven's waters flowing, Eyes of gemstones glowing, Lips and smile of the divine, Bosoms, nooks, and bays, Brings the consuming fire to shine. It reminded me a little bit of oh so many ancient poetry that describe a woman with vivid imagination. Peace, L&T
