Day Of Fathers Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Day Of Fathers

Day of fathers

Father's day
-they call it and varies
-by place and culture
-as if dad is also just a word
-and differs by the tongue
-language

As does wood
-some say choob,
-madera or khashab, dreva…
-and so on…

I sit back
-a father

Long before was a son

And think…think

And question…

And drowned
Find me lost
In silence
In space
No reply!
Just "What? What? "

Do my kids know the dad?
-No, never, not at all

But free they feel when
-they sit down now and then
-while alive and when gone
-and long dead
-talk of me, define me
- - somebody that was not
- - - - was not me…
Not
At
Alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
