Deathbed Of Darkness

truth come straight
embedded disguise
disrobeing darkness
and lethal lies
taken to be the gold standard
of true reality
promised us
at birth
the reward of death
when the beast is forsaken
it is forgotten
wild animals stampede
so that it cannot breathe
sincerely
we make the pledge
strong enough
still to run the race
