Debts Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Debts

Rating: 5.0

When the seasons leave colours on the leaves
When the buds leave blooming aspirations
When the dying day leaves colours in the horizon
I regret, I have nothing with me to leave for you

The clouds climb the heights to rain
The night treads ahead to wield the day
The dawn knocks at the door with a bright day
The dusk with a bunch of charming dreams

Adieu, I am incapable of repaying my debts
The waves and the shore hug to part
Dawn and dusk meet the day to bid farewell
Day and night cannot stay together

Adieu,

Thank you Bindu Dijish. Our debts to many animate and inanimate beings around us always remain unpaid and pass to forgetfullness. The poem is a reminder. Hope you will continue to read other poems too.

We owe much to many things and people! We owe to God, fellow beings and Nature! Our debt piles up day by day! But we cannot repay all that we receive. What we can do is stay grateful to all that brings sunshine into our lives! A beautiful poem!
