Deep Eyes Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Deep Eyes

Rating: 5.0

I could feel helplessness
Almost visible by worry lines
He may try to put brave front
He was the only person to bear brunt

I was little boy in family
Yet always prayed almighty
To relieve the burden
And make them happy even

What could I do as an honor?
Age was not in my favor
He always smiled despite hardship
Silently I used to hide and weep for them

Mother was so kind
But not totally blind
“You got to be brave”
She will dare me to behave

This made me curious
To work hard and be famous
This needed lots of effort
But as of now I needed their support

The money war hard to earn
It was less in circulation
So on hand we found so much in scarce
Barely we met with sufficient our source

I look back and find their deep eyes
Searching future in my eyes
I was their hope and future
Many times I used catch his hand and reassure
