Deep Eyes Of The Eagle Poem by Dorsey Baker

Deep Eyes Of The Eagle

I run him off
But he just keeps
Coming back
To stand almost
Motionless
On my old rusty fence
He has a very
Wide wing span
And some large
Investigative eyes
A rather proud
And beautiful bird
Sits upon my fence
Staring
Straight at me
And making me feel
Really uncomfortable
His body
Shows signs of great strength
And the battle scars
Of a fearless warrior
Bold and defiant
He turns his big head
In my direction
Provoking
Eye to eye contact
