Defend Rights Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Defend Rights

Rating: 3.0

Shoot at sight
When law deteriorates in streets
When mob turns unruly
People take law into hands unfortunately

No one wants destruction
Yet there prevails confusion
People go out in rage on road
When fired upon, get shot dead

Public property is burnt
The road is blocked
Traffic is affected
Public is strongly reacted

Why do we go wild?
How many years it has taken to build?
The confidence and trust is shaken
The public opinion is not well taken

Democracy is alright
But it doe not mean open street fight
Rights and duties are always interlinked
Protest peacefully if measures are disliked

Not a single death should occur
He may be innocent passers by
He may be your son, brother or sister
Let us observe restraint even if we differ

Take vow to defend rights
Liberty and freedom is to delight
No one can play with peaceful demonstration
Reckless orders for shoot may end harmonious relation

It sometimes become very difficult to control mob, if not peaceful. Rights & Liberties are guaranteed by the constitution to the extent these are not exploited to create mayhem. Collateral damage is always an excepted norm in governance. Nice one..
